Overview

Mediation is a useful process to help navigate difficult dynamics in organisations.  Often organisations benefit from having this advanced communication skill set in house and it saves money as means the mediation can be run internally.   Mediation increases team performance because when differences and conflict can be resolved effectively it increases psychological safety, promotes diversity and so productivity. Culturally, mediation is a key intervention to create healthy teams and behaviours.

Our training is based on a proven model that we use when conducting mediation in organisations.  We provide the advanced emotional processing and communication skills needed to manage difference, plus a robust process to help prepare, run and review mediation in house.

After the training we ask delegates to conduct a mediation session so they can apply the learnings from the workshop, get feedback and so build competence and confidence as mediators.

Outcomes

  • understand the emotional landscape of conflict and why it can feel so difficult
  • reduce the triggers around conflict so mediators can stay calm and contain the emotions of themselves and others during mediation
  • have the skills to confidently conduct mediation; asking open questions, actively listening, using non-judgemental language, ladder of inference, blind spots, left-hand right-hand column, and passive, aggressive and assertive communication
  • have a process to manage mediation conversations
