Lorna Pountney Assistant Principal and DSL Ashlawn School.

Accessing supervision through this service has been invaluable to me in my role as Designated Safeguarding Lead in a large secondary school. At a particularly challenging time—while awaiting an Ofsted inspection—it had a significant and positive impact on my mental health.

The sessions have given me a much-needed space to reflect, explore different perspectives, and process complex safeguarding cases. I’ve also gained a deeper understanding of professional dynamics, particularly through learning about the Karpman Drama Triangle model, which helped me recognise my tendency to take on the ‘rescuer’ role.

Leanne has been consistently supportive, providing a safe, non-judgmental environment where I’ve felt able to open up fully. Her insight, empathy and professionalism have made these sessions a crucial part of my practice.

I’m incredibly grateful for the support I’ve received, and we’ve just signed up for our third year with the service—a clear testament to its value.
