Phil Arrowsmith, Headteacher
We began working with Healthy Minds at Work in September 2025, after being introduced to them by colleagues from other hospital schools. Our initial plan was to offer three group sessions, based around a mixture of coaching and supervision. However, due to some staffing issues at school, we needed to make some changes to our initial plans and groupings. Ultimately, this resulted in one group of staff receiving supervision and coaching sessions, one individual member of staff receiving formal supervision, and myself and my deputy receiving joint supervision, which has also included some vital coaching elements.
The flexible, adaptable and responsive approach from HMAW has been one of the things we have appreciated the most, and it has resulted in us finding the best balance, and the best support for our staff as the year has progressed. We have now committed to continuing with the service again for next year, but with another slight change in order to meet the changing needs of our staff.
I can’t recommend HMAW highly enough. I see the positive difference in my staff and I feel it within myself. One of the best testimonials I can give is that my Chair of Governors has commented recently that she feels I need her support far less these days, and she is beginning to feel redundant in this regard! I know that this is in huge part as a result of the work of HMAW.
